Frequently Asked Questions
What are your confidentiality policy and code of ethics?
Everything we talk about remains confidential. I work according to the BACP code of ethics and EFTA code of ethics.
Do you provide therapy in other languages?
We can speak in either English or Greek.
What are your fees?
This will be discussed and agreed on during our first meeting. In some cases I am able to offer a concession rate.
How often do we meet? How long are the sessions?
Consistency and regularity are important to ensure progress and growth in our work together, so we would usually meet once a week for 50 minutes. Sometimes (for example in a crisis situation), more frequent meetings can be effective; during our initial meeting we can discuss this and decide what will be best for you. Currently due to Covid-19 restrictions all sessions are taking place online, through secure platforms.
What are the sessions like? What happens in a regular session?
Sessions do not follow any pre-defined path; we discuss whatever you feel you need to bring to the conversation at that particular moment. In talking therapy it is important to be as spontaneous as possible; working in this way, what is said is often closest to the truth.
In what other ways can therapy help me?
As well as providing a safe space where you can talk through any issues or concerns that may be affecting you, therapy can also aid in developing valuable cognitive skills. It can help:
- Sharpen your judgement and gain more clarity in your thinking
- Make better decisions and choices, and set more concrete goals
- Better tune-in to your inner voice
- Activate positive energy and inner strength
- Feel more energised by opportunities and new beginnings
- Boost your self-esteem and confidence.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cannot make it to a session I require a week's notice, otherwise a fee will be payable.
